Our Favourite Jewellery Looks of 2024

Our Favourite Jewellery Looks of 2024

As the year draws to a close, we reflect on the defining moments in the jewellery world—celebrating the designers who have inspired us, the red carpet looks that left us in awe, and we share our predictions for the 2025 jewellery scene.

The Designers We Were Obsessed With

We love shining a light on fellow jewellery designers - these two designers have inspired us with their creativity, and brought new life to the jewellery scene over the last year.

Alex Monroe

Alex Monroe is a renowned British jewelry designer celebrated for his intricate, nature-inspired creations. Established in 1987, Alex is best known for his iconic bee necklace. Alex Monroe's designs often reflect his love for the natural world, drawing inspiration from the English countryside.

We absolutely love Alex Monroe's work, and the magical way he transforms the intricate beauty of nature into jewellery that feels both whimsical and deeply meaningful. His ability to highlight delicate, organic details—whether the curve of a leaf, or the intricate texture of a flower petal—demonstrates a great appreciation for the natural world. Each piece is not just a design, but a story, blending elegance, charm, and a sense of wonder. His creativity, combined with his commitment to craftsmanship, results in jewellery pieces that feel truly one of a kind.

Castro Smith

Castro Smith is an incredibly talented London-based jewellery designer and engraver, renowned for his innovative approach to traditional craftsmanship. Known for his intricate signet rings and hand-engraved designs, Castro blends classical engraving techniques with a modern artistic vision, creating timeless pieces. Drawing inspiration from mythology, folklore, and nature, his work often features detailed, narrative-driven engravings that tell evocative stories.

Castro Smith's engraving technique is nothing short of remarkable—each line and curve is meticulously carved by hand, creating a level of detail and depth that brings his designs to life. What sets Castro apart is his ability to push the boundaries of traditional engraving, infusing it with his unique creative vision. His designs often reflect a deep connection to nature, and his work feels completely innovative. Each piece is a testament to his ability to see beauty in the smallest of details and bring them to life.

The Red Carpet Jewellery Looks We Couldn't Stop Thinking About

Michelle Yeoh in Cindy Chao

Everything about these earrings is perfect - from the movement of the piece to the sparkling diamond accents, and the design’s intricate twists and folds. Cindy Chao’s work shows delicacy and precision, with her designs emphasising organic shapes and fluid movement.

Adrien Brody in Elsa Jin

A dazzling statement piece; this brooch perfectly captures the exciting return of this style to the red carpet during 2024. In our opinion, Adrien Brody wore the best of the best, showcasing a design that is bold, exciting, and truly unique. The way Elsa Jin ensures that the central gemstone is elegantly framed by the movement of the piece, and adds such detail to the wings, makes for a spectacular design.

Cate Blanchett in Louis Vuitton

Cate stunned in this Louis Vuitton pearl shoulder necklace. If it's body jewellery, we're immediately interested - jewellery has always typically been rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings. It's always exciting to see designers push the boundaries of jewellery and make it look completely natural and effortless. We love the idea of the shoulder necklace because, yes, it's a little different, but it compliments Cate's look so well, and still looks classic and elegant.

Our Predictions for Jewellery Trends in 2025

Anklets

A 90s and early 2000 staple, anklets dip in and out of fashion. We saw a brief anklet resurgence after 2020, thanks to the Y2K revival, but this trend mostly remained confined to high street and fashion jewellery. Our prediction for 2024 is that anklets make a strong return to the luxury jewellery scene too, and we expect to see celebrities taking anklet designs to the next level on the red carpet.

Body Jewellery

Are we just obsessed with the idea of this?! Okay, maybe, but with more and more celebrities wearing body jewellery on the red carpet, models walking the runway adorned with body jewels, and a new generation of jewellery designers ready to break the mould and redefine luxury, we anticipate a new era of body jewellery. Body jewellery has traditionally been reserved for bold, statement-making pieces—designs that shine on the red carpet but often feel out of place in everyday fashion. However, our prediction for 2025 is that jewellery designers will reinvent body jewellery, making it more versatile and wearable for daily life. We anticipate a shift towards designs that balance artistry with practicality.
